No computer skills are needed to use this system, since the programs that are used to communicate are very simple and intuitive to use. Naturally, if we want to use another application, such as Internet surfing, we will have to learn to use the browser, which is quite simple. No accessories need to be placed on the head or any other part of the user, since all control is done by a camera which is mounted on the computer, aiming at the eye of the user. Iriscom is installed on a powerful laptop computer. This allows the system to be mounted on a wheelchair, or to be carried on trips, to be put away when not in use, etc. It is important that the computer is used exclusively for this purpose, since certain programs used by other people could interfere with the correct working of the system. Finally, it is convenient to use some method that will allow the user to keep his/her head still while being comfortable at the same time (sitting in bed with the head resting on a pillow, on a wheelchair with a support device for the head, etc., depending on each user’s needs). For access to the Internet, a broadband (DSL, cable...) connection is highly recommended.
