Typically the system is used by people with disabilities: ALS, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injury, quadriplegic, repetitive strain injury, etc. The system allows the use of glasses or contact lenses, and will work regardless of eye colour or size. Only one of the eyes is needed to control the system. Once an eye is chosen, the system is calibrated for that eye, and the mouse cursor will follow its movement. Although it allows slight movements of the head, the user should place himself in a comfortable position in which the head can be as stable as possible. Learning to use the system is a matter of minutes, since it’s done in a very natural way: the cursor will follow the movement of the eye and will stay on the spot the user is looking at. Obviously, practice makes perfect, and it soon becomes second nature.
